Sweet Little Faces.

I spent a few hours of my Halloween season painting the
dear faces of my good friend Lori's elementary school students.
It was an amazing evening of butterflies, vampires, fairies, zombies,
dragons, flower children, angels, devils, witches and many many cats.
It was hilarious to watch the tickle twitches, the transformations
from children to beasts, and the quiet meditative calm that
filled my paint brush and flowed out onto these sweet little faces.

I can't wait for next years Harvest Festival!

Crafty Wonderland Wrap Up.

What a whirlwind!
Crafty Wonderland was a blast last weekend.
So much fun to see my artful friends, their new wares,
and gather together to make a big cement room come to life.
A special thanks to my Mom who flew up to help out.

Here are links to some of my favorite crafty gals:

Thanks to everyone who came and shopped handmade!

Art Camp 2012.

Last week I had the pleasure of teaching at Lori Shippy's Art Camp.
It's an artful gathering of children of all ages for a week long art making adventure.
The kids worked on drawing, sculpting, natural dying and of course jumping double dutch.

I brought in some roving and together we made a fantastic collection of felted river rocks.

Everybody had fun learning to wet felt.

We made rocks in blues, greens, greys and white.

Even the parents joined in.

Art camp is not only special because of all the art making and creative time.
But also because all the proceeds go to support the Togo Well Project,
helping to bring fresh clean drinking water to many communities.

Thanks Lori for inviting me to be part of such an inspirational week.

Thrifting with Lori.

Last weekend my friend Lori and I
went to one of our favorite thrift stores.
Look what she found and let me take home!
These tickets are such nice colors.
Who has a great idea of what I should do with them?

Thanks Lori for giving me this super score.
You do truly bring color into my life.

Support Art Education!

Last weekend Lori Shippy and I
did our first Flash Mob,
in support or art education.

20+ Portland area Art Teachers
and Artists came together
to create an amazing mural.

Check it out below:

Post Craft Sale Relaxation

Phew, Craft Sales are done for the season. And what a season it was!
Thanks to all of you who supported your local crafting community!!
This is a picture of me at the tail end of Crafty Wonderland.
It was an amazing day,
filled with zillions of shoppers and awesome fellow crafters.
In the foreground are my good friend Lori Shippy's birds.
Again, I can not say enough about how amazing her work is.
Now it feels like time to rest and renew...
Although... look for some fun new items on my Etsy site next week!
