Summer Dreaming.

It's pouring this morning and gray and quite Marvember.
It's the time in Portland's spring weather where you want to throw
in the towel and move to Mexico. The February fake out is over,
March has moved in like a lion. It's cold and wet and muddy.
Most days I'm fine with it, but today I'm doing some summer dreaming.
Here is a shot from last summer when I spent almost
every evening I was in town down by the river.
I'd like to sit on my folding chair with my feet in the water
until I'm good and hot, make friends with dogs and children,
and then jump on in. July, I miss you.

Wagon Wheel, Summer Swimming.

Looking for a good summer swimming hole?

I've got just the place.
Wagon Wheel on the Molalla River.

A great place to paint rocks.

Or just sit and watch the river.

Or float with the one's you love.

From Portland, take 205 South to 213.
Drive for 14 or so miles, until you see the second
golf course.  It's on your left.

Deep swimming hole and lot's of fun.

Pure Summer Delight.

I have to admit that I am sometimes
not the biggest fan of summer.
It's hot, I wilt, I wallow, I wonder
if it will ever end.
But...LOOK! what wonders
all that sun and summertastic
delight brings!

Our raspberries are the best they have
EVER been, and our sweet pea stand
just keeps going.

With bowls and vases filled with
summer's wonderful delights,
life feels full, fragrant and delicious.

Feather

A feather is a letter from a bird.

Anybody know who's feather this is?
I found it last summer and was instantly in love.

Looking back on Summer

A little look back at a summer trip to California.
Gamble Gardens, Palo Alto.

Autumn is upon us in Oregon, leaves are changing,
the chill has set in, the Juncos in the yard are busy eating
seeds and fattening up for the long winter ahead.
It feels like it's time to cozy up with tea, a wool blanket,
and a good book.  Any reading recommendations?
